Tabs

At the top of every COLTS II panel is a set of tabs showing functions available to you. Supervisors will have extra tabs showing the additional functions that they need to perform in COLTS II. The set of tabs you see will depend on two things: which method of time-entry you have been set up to use, and whether you are working on the current pay period or a prior pay period. You will only see the tabs you need, and you will probably not see the exact set of the tabs shown below. As you go through this Guided Tour, we will be showing you a generic set of tabs. Remember that you will not need (or even see) all of them.

in out tab

Clicking on a tab will display a panel which looks like a paper form. Just as on paper, you fill out the part that is appropriate to your task.

The tabs display the following panels. Click on the underlined panel name to see what each looks like.

  • In/Out panel -- used for entering hours if youhave been set up to use in/out times
  • Work panel -- used for entering hours if you have been set up to use Standard Schedule or Non-standard Schedule (instead of in/out times).
  • Leave panel -- used for entering hours which you did not work, but for which you are entitled to receive pay. The most common types of leave are vacation, sick, and personal time.
  • Shift panel -- used only by employees who are in jobs that involve shift differential pay for working regularly scheduled hours between 6pm and 6am. This panel is used to record those hours.
  • Approval panel -- used to review and approve your reported hours.
  • Balance panel -- shows leave balances (vacation, sick, and personal time).
  • Correction panel -- appears if you select a prior pay period on the selector bar. It allows you to submit changes to a pay period after the information on the pay period has been sent to payroll.
