Standard Schedule

Entering Hours Worked using a Standard Schedule

A Standard Schedule is intended for employees who generally keep the same hours week to week. The standard hours for each day of the week are recorded into a Default schedule by the supervisor or payroll rep.

In our example, Stan Schelman works a very regular schedule: 7.8 hours each day (starts at 8:30am, takes a 42 minute lunch break, and leaves at 5:00pm). His supervisor or payroll rep will set up COLTS II so that Stan finds "7.8" entered into each weekday in the Reg column on the Work tab. Only when he works a longer or shorter day, or needs to report some kind of leave hours does Stan have to change this number.

Standard Schedule

If you are an employee using Standard Schedule, you will see the Work column filled out with your default schedule. The totals will also reflect your standard hours.

You need only enter a value on a day when you work more or less than the default hours. Simply enter the correct number of hours for those days. The totals will automatically adjust to reflect your changes.

To change any of your hours, use your mouse to click on the entry field in the day you need to change. A blue arrow will appear, pointing at the field you have selected. Type the number of hours you actually worked (using tenths of an hour).

(If you wish, an In/Out Calculator can be displayed by clicking on the blue arrow that appears next to the field you clicked on. It will calculate your in/out hours based on the start and stop times you enter in the calculator. It will store the total number of hours in the entry field, but will not save the actual in/out times.)
